My first attack on an abstract style write up.
Hope you enjoy it just as much as I did writing it!
As this lands in your inbox - I’m 3 days into my first mountaineering expedition in Nepal. We would of just been landing in Lukla, known as the worlds most dangerous air strip (Sorry mum, love you), before tackling Island Peak. Beyond excited for this adventure.

A new airport unlocked. A new challenge of how will I get to my accommodation. Maybe I should be more organized. Is that fun? I'm so excited to be in the mountains again. That's fun. I've never been this high in the world before. 6187m. That's high, isn't it? Bring it on. I reckon I'm going to make some new friends. I'll call them my 6000m friends. I wonder what stories they'll share. I wonder where they are all from? I hope we make it to the summit. I mean if we don't that's also okay. Safety out there will be our main concern. With a side of fun. What else am I concerned about? Nothing really, as long as I'm able to get to my accommodation. They say it's all about the journey and so far the journey to Nepal has been a wild ride. As I write this, I lay in my bed overlooking Nusa Ceningan. Time traveling. Substack style. Fast forward a few days and I'll be in a new airport. I probably should use this time to organize how to get from the airport to my Airbnb. It always works itself out
.Will they have my size boots? 'It always works itself out,' I said. So of course they will. I hope. Put good intentions out into the world and magic pours in. It's going to be a fun task running around organising all my last-minute gear list. Bit of climbing gear required. Gee, we must be going pretty high. I've never used any of this stuff before. New toys to play with. I like learning. Hopefully, we get a day or so to learn how the new toys work. Not like that time I sailed from Africa to Australia. We learned how to use the main sail in the middle of the ocean. ‘Not that rope, dickhead, the other one.’ Some people aren't good teachers. But the end goal was still attained. The main sail was set. Goal was the same. I worked out what rope it was.
Buy one, get two free. I've changed writing locations. I'm now in the air. A big white metal bird-looking thing, flying me around the globe. Does anyone else think that's crazy? I've got extra legroom. I bought one seat and got two spare next to me. People dress so differently. People love so differently. Is there one general way to love? I guess there's more than one way to make a pizza. And it doesn't matter how you do it. The end goal is the same; you never not get to your accommodation. What's the most common sign that you love someone? Is there a study on that? I'd Google it. But you don't get internet in the metal bird.
You probably should tell your friends you love them more. Write that in your journal. I love my friends. Love looks different for each person. Adventure looks different for most; some like the finer things in life. Do I like the finer things in life? I like pizza at a fancy restaurants. But I probably couldn't wear my hiking boots. My hiking boots are going to see some things this month. I haven't worn them in a while; they've got so much coming their way. Hope the quality is okay. Like the quality of wine you'd expect to have at the fancy restaurant with your pizza. Things always work themselves out. Just like my getting from the airport to my accommodation.
Things always work themselves out.
A few film frames from that time I sailed from Africa to Australia:
78 days. 24/7. 8847NM.

Enjoy it up there. Can't wait to hear the 6000m stories.
